Regional Centre Jorhat was honoured to receive the Best Services Award for the year 2016-17 in the 30th Convocation held on 13th April, 2017.
Regional Centre Jorhat again was awarded the Best Regional Centre Award in small category for the year 2023-24 on the occasion of 39th Foundation Day on 19th November, 2024. The award was received from the Honourable Minister of Education (state), Govt. of India Shri. Sukanta Majumdar in the presence of Chairman, AICTE Prof. T.G. Sitharam and Honourable VC Prof. Uma Kanjilal, IGNOU and Dr. Alok Chaube, Registrar, IGNOU.

Besides regular activities of the Regional Centre, a two day National Conference on “Vision-2025: Connecting North East through Open and Distance Learning” was organized in collaboration with CSIR- North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST) and Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) on 8th & 9th July, 2017 with the aim and objective of providing a platform to all the stakeholders of ODL and conventional institutions of Higher Education (HE) to share their experiences and expertise so that a vision for near future can emerge for NER. The organization of this National Conference was a big achievement for the Regional Centre.
